Getting Involved: Making Your Voice Heard

Do you have lived experience of safeguarding, either personally or while supporting a loved one? Would you like to have an impact on the future of safeguarding in Hillingdon? Hillingdon’s Safeguarding Adults Board is looking for volunteers and representatives.

There are opportunities to influence safeguarding support in Hillingdon, and London more widely, and to improve people’s experience of safeguarding support. 

 

London Safeguarding Voices Group

Healthwatch run the London Safeguarding Voices Group, which is a space for volunteers with lived experience of adult safeguarding support to represent their views to the London Safeguarding Adults Board. It is a joint project between London Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) and Healthwatch England.

Volunteers from Hillingdon are welcome to join. Support and training will be provided primarily by the coordinators of the London Safeguarding Voices Group.

Hillingdon SAB Lived Experience Group

The Safeguarding Partnership Team recruit volunteers to participate in a local group of adults and carers with lived experience of adult safeguarding support in Hillingdon. Their views and ideas will be shared with the Safeguarding Adults Board. 

One-off Feedback Sessions

The Safeguarding Adults Board wants to know what people have to say about their safeguarding support. Adults or carers with lived experience of safeguarding support are invited to share their experiences, feedback and suggestions to the Safeguarding Partnership Team.  People can speak to the team over the phone or in person. We will maintain confidentiality.
