The Safeguarding Adults Board is a multi-agency partnership comprising statutory, independent and charitable organisations with a stakeholder interest in safeguarding adults at risk.
SAB's have a key role in bringing together organisations to ensure that they work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults.
The SAB should seek assurance of the effectiveness of safeguarding activity and that safeguarding practice is continuously improving and enhancing the quality of life for adults with care and support needs and carers in its area, in line with ‘Making safeguarding personal’. This should address issues of quality as well as quantity, particularly from the perspective of those who have experienced safeguarding services. (SCIE)
The multi-agency training provided by Hillingdon SAB offers access to a broad range of learning opportunities with the common aim of improving adults safety and well-being. It is freely available to those organisations who contribute financially to the SAB and chargeable for all other agencies.
When adults with care and support needs die or are seriously harmed there is a clear local process for identifying any learning and embed that learning into local multi-agency practice to ensure continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.
